Bows & Boulevards

Why hello!

No, I have not dropped off the face of the planet. Yes, I’m alive. (Although barely). Unfortunately, life has taken ahold of me and blogging has had to be put to the side. I’ve finally applied to college (WOO!) and hopefully, I’ll be getting some acceptance letters soon. But, that’s not the exciting news I’ve come to share with everyone.

My news is I will no longer be blogging on An Itty Bitty Ditty anymore. But don’t worry! I’ll still be blogging but with Blogger on Bows & Boulevards. It took a lot of thought but I really didn’t like the restrictions on WordPress.com and I really don’t have the time right now to be learning CSS and HTML on WordPress.org. Soooo… I switched over! But, I’m going to give you a good list of why Bows & Boulevards will be like ten times better than An Itty Bitty Ditty….

  1. It looks pretty generic right now but I’m seriously planning on investing on a great theme during the Christmas season. Finally, my blog appearance will hopefully reflect the content!
  2. I recieved a DSRL for my birthday (thank you Ry) and am learning some photography skills
  3. I also have an iPhone so it’ll be easier to communicate
  4. iPhone=Instagram (follow follow)
  5. And lastly, it’s a-freaking-lot easier to say. I mean, say Itty Bitty Ditty ten times. I dare you.

Anyway, I better see ALL OF YOU on Bows & Boulevards because I miss hearing from everyone🙂

Hugs & Kisses,

Olivia

In Need of Blogging Assistance

So in April, I began blogging at Itty Bitty Dittys. It was only supposed to be a little hobby to help me pass the time of junior year boredom and to share my style with others. But now… It’s become more than that! And I would like to expand my blog to something more personal than just a simple wordpress.com type-thang.

Currently, I use a free blog on wordpress.com. I don’t have my own domain and I have to use one of their generated templates. And it sucks. I would love to have a personalized template to match my blog but that means that I would need to switch over to a different platform such as wordpress.org or blogger.com or some other kinds. But that…costs money. To have a web host, your own domain, and a cutesy theme…. Ahh the costs are piling up! And I’m not sure whether or not if it is worth the investment or which stuff (domain, templates, etc) are worth it in the long run?

So what are your thoughts, my fellow bloggers? I know that some of you have your own domain and you have great templates. What did you invest into your blog? Which platforms are good to use (preferably for me… cheap is good!)? Any tips into this transition?:)

Thank you so much for your lovely advice!

Hugs & Kisses,

Olivia

The Fox of Fate

Last weekend, I was in dire need of some shopping therapy. I had just gone from the mall and bought a pair of oxford heels, thigh-high socks (which, by the way, HOW DO YOU WEAR??), and some much needed leggings for the fall season. Anyhoo… I took a trip down to TJ Maxx for one last addition to my shopping bag.

Flipping through the racks, I stumbled upon this cute fox dress…In my size and probably the last one!  Now, these kinds of loose dresses never work on me because of my figure. But my goodness, this dress was absolutely perfect. It had to be fate. So, I scourged through the last of my dollars and bought it. And it has already become a favorite in my closet! Who knew foxes could be so cute?

Olivia

PS: I’m looking towards the next month of October and it’s pretty busy! Between SATs, ACTs, college visits, my wisdom teeth, and my birthday… It’s gonna be pretty time consuming. So I apologize beforehand when my posts become very sporadic over the next few weeks.

Inspired From A Bartender

Judging from my title, you’re probably like, “What? Isn’t she like underage? Why is she in bars getting inspired by bartenders?” Well… I can explain. And no, don’t worry! Bars are not places of usual hangouts for this girl.

This past summer, my boyfriend’s family held a party for his grandfather’s passing. It was lovely with catered food, reminiscing photos, Greek relatives, and hey… A bartender! And she looked awesome with this scarf wrapped around her head. It was totally vintage looking which of course, means that I loved it. Anyway, all evening, I was trying to work up the courage to ask her. Unfortunately, I never got the chance because there were too many people gathered around the bar area. (Or that’s my excuse anyway…).

But, the next day, I looked up the process of how to do it online. And I was inspired to try it out that day when my best friend, her sister, and I went out to lunch.

That was a little over a month ago, and today, I’m trying it out with my mom’s scarf she got at a Paris market of sorts. It’s a little chillier so instead of wearing it with shorts, I’m wearing it with my black jeans and boots! Thankfully, headscarves are an all-year-round style!

Not much to report today. It’s yet again, a busy week with tennis tennis tennis tennis. All day, everyday. (It seems like.) Considering I have far away matches twice this week, I probably won’t be able to get back to your comments until the end of the week. And with that, my sincerest apologies.

But, I hope everyone’s having a lovely week! Can’t wait to talk to you in a few days.
