Floral Dress Blue Cardigan Booties Giveaway Bag Winner Heart Necklace

A little less than a month ago, I entered my very first giveaway. I could either receive a zebra shirt, green skirt, owl necklace, pink sunglasses, or a little satchel purse. Gosh, they were all so cute… I wanted them all! So, I entered thinking I probably wouldn’t win.

A few weeks later, I was checking up on the website and lo and behold… It said I had won! I think I seriously did a little jig because I was so happy. I gave her emailed her my request and address a few days later.

A couple of days ago, I hear my mom call from downstairs…

“OLIVIA! DID YOU ORDER SOMETHING FROM CHINA?!” I stop my homework-An Anatomy assignment to which I unnecessarily wrote down all 11 body systems… Instead of one- and go downstairs to see what my mother is talking about. She’s holding a small cardboard box in one hand with curiosity.

I quickly grab a pair of scissors and open the box. Inside is the cutest brown leather bag I have ever seen. And on the label, there are little Chinese characters that I can’t read. Even so, it’s still the cutest bag!

Anyway, I would just like to thank my fellow blogger, Niki from Hey Niki, for the opportunity. This giveaway was so sweet of you! The day after I received it in the mail, I took it to school and wore it out to lunch. I hope everyone who saw it was jealous ūüėČ

The Fall Lineup

Fall is approaching fast. The¬†down side of this is we all have to put our sun dresses and sandals back into our closets (or in my case, an old toy box) for several months. The up side is SHOPPING! I’ve put together a series of wishlist items for The Fall of ’13 on Polyvore. Polyvore is¬†basically a site where you can create outfit sets like the ones below. It’s kind of the¬†grown-up version of those dress-up games we all played and loved as little girls.¬†¬†Keep in mind that this is my first legitimate time doing this so they won’t be as fancy-shmancy as the rest of you pros. But, I love the outfits and I guess I’ve inspired myself to go out and search for some!

(Also, the detailing of the outfit are not the actual pieces in the picture. They are only recommendations. Thank you!)

Sweater Weather

fall sweater weather pattern scarf leggings

This comfortable, yet chic outfit is perfect for those cool autumn mornings. Maybe grab some hot cider before you start the day and you’re ready to roll.

Sweater: Forever21 Cable Knit Raglan Sweater for $24.80

Leggings: Charlotte Russe Ankle Length Cotton Leggings for$ 8.99 (or $8 online!)

Boots: Zappos VOLATILE Wicker for $75.00 (I’d never spend that much on shoes but brown boots are very easy to find)

Scarf: American Eagle AEO Printed Scarf for $24.95 (Again, $25 dollars is a lot for a scarf but this outfit is very versatile so anything could work!)

Pretty In Pink

Pretty In Pink Faux Leather Skirt Pink Lace Tank Top Chuck Taylor Converse High Top Round Sunnies

This edgy outfit has a kick of skater with the flared leather skirt and high tops. Jaws will drop whevever you go.

Shirt: Charlotte Russe Crocheted Lace Tank in pink for $12.50

Skirt: Forever21 A-Line Faux Leather Skirt for $15.80

Sunshades: PacSun Robin Round for $14.95 ( 2 for 20 online exclusive!)

Sneakers: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star for $55.00

Fall Florals

Fall Florals Maxi Skirt Flowy Crop Top Heels Daisies

My favorite. Why put away your summer stuff when you can just switch up the outfit? Lovely maxi skirt with a touch of florals keeps the sun out during the fall.

Top: Charlotte Russe (similar) Crochet Flutter Crop Tank for $14.99

Skirt: PacSun (with Slit) Kirra Double Front Slit Skirt for $25.00

Shoes: Modcloth Kick It Up A Notch for $45.99

Anyway, I hope that this has inspired you for your next shopping spree!

The Town Of Truth

Over my lifetime, I’ve come up with different games to pass the time during long road trips.¬†The games are all over the map (no pun intended) which include simple games like 20 Questions and I-Spy. Then some games are a little more extreme. One time, my friends and I pretended we were being chased by a car behind us and we used a bazooka (an umbrella) to shoot down our enemies. It totally belonged in an action movie, it was that intense.

Just a few days ago, my family was helping my older brother move into his new townhouse in Philadelphia. My mother was in¬†her car and my brother and I were in his. After a losing game of 20 Questions (it was my high school girl’s cross country coach, of all things), my brother told me a little riddle:

You are walking along a path and you come across a fork in the road. One path leads to the town of truth where everyone in the town tells the truth. The other path leads to the town of lies where everyone in the town tells lies. There is a man blocking the paths. You have to ask the man one question to get you to the town of truth. What would you ask?

So, you’re probably wondering what this has to do with either A)This outfit or B)This blog. And well, to tell you the truth, it doesn’t. Not really. But, I feel that in a way, blogging is like trying to solve a riddle. They both make you think… a lot. I know that¬†my blog is always on my mind with questions like, “What should I wear next?” and “How can I make my blog better?”. And thinking is supposed to be healthy for you. (Although sometimes over-thinking can lead me to stay up all night over stupid things, but hey-I’m a girl. It’s what we do.) I’m starting to find that I love blogging because of this. I love thinking about my next post and different ways I can invite people to check it out. It’s such a great creative outlet, don’t you think?

Sorry for the complete tangent of a post. I’m not even sure where I’m going with this one. I think my scatterbrained-ness is an effect of having to sleep on a pull out bed that was equivalent to a pile of pokey metal,¬†last night. My body and mind are still protesting. I sense a nap in the near future.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a great weekend!

And since my readers are fellow bloggers, What would you say to the man to get to the Town of Truth?

Hugs & Kisses,

Out Of Focus, Eye To Eye

So, I normally put this skirt away once the weather gets warmer. I don’t know…I think this olive green color belongs more in the autumn season rather than summer season. But, for some reason, I couldn’t find the heart to put it back into my winter box until school starts again. Unfortunately, that means trying to find warm-weather pieces to go with it. Trying to transform winter pieces into summer or vise versa can be tricky.¬† Thankfully, this skirt is pretty versatile and matching it with this crochet top was simple!

Anyway, do you have any tips for pieces you can’t part with for the summer? Like, instead of wearing tights with that dress you normally wear in the winter… Do you pair it with a jean vest or a cute summer scarf instead? Doing this can totally transform and expand your entire wardrobe! Who needs to go shopping for spring clothes when you have everything you need in your closet? (Okay… That would be me. I’m the kind of girl who would go shopping even if I owned all the clothes in the world;P)

Have a great weekend, my chicas and my chicos (…? Is that even¬†correct? I take¬†French in school.)¬†for all my lovely male readers out there.

Hugs & Kisses,

Something In The Way You Move

        Tropical6.jpg         Tropical5.jpg

Miss me this past week? My sincerest apologies- it was quite a busy one! My testing is finally over and I feel like I can almost start thinking about summer. This is the first summer I will be able to drive (say a prayer that y’all don’t live near me or else I would seriously suggest everyone to stay off the roads) which gives me a new found freedom! I recently found this cool idea called Geocaching. I told my lovely boyfriend we’re so doing it this summer. Poor guy.

Anyway, I’ve always had a problem with side braids. The one side ALWAYS falls out…no matter how many bobby pins I put in it. Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me? But I love the look: pretty and causal-the perfect combo! Anyway, fed up with the constant issue, I finally looked up a solution. French braid it on the side. Ohmygosh who knew? But it works¬†great and I’ve been doing it everyday since.

Have a wonderful week, everyone! Counting down the days until summer!

Hugs & Kisses,
